Workshop Experiences

Designed specifically for FSL-participating Core French grades, with strong visual supports, guided language use, and high student engagement.

Grades: FSL-participating grades (typically 4–8)
Format: In-class interactive workshop
Time: 1-2 periods (adaptable to school schedule)
Language Focus: Confidence-building use of French through structured vocabulary scaffolding, guided interaction, and meaningful participation.

Designed specifically for French Immersion settings, emphasizing sustained oral interaction, collaboration, and authentic language use.

Grades: French Immersion grades (typically 1–8)
Format: In-class interactive workshop
Time: 1-2 periods (adaptable to school schedule)
Language Focus: Sustained oral interaction, peer collaboration, and meaningful use of French throughout the session.

• Identifying a lead contact for scheduling and communication

• Providing an appropriate classroom or shared space for the workshop

• Supporting student supervision in line with regular classroom routines

• Pre-event planning and coordination with the classroom teacher to align the workshop with learning goals and student needs

• Preparation and delivery of all French-language materials and activities

• Professional facilitation grounded in French-language pedagogy, with real-time adjustment based on student response and engagement

• Intentional language scaffolding and modelling to support confidence and participation across varying French proficiency levels

• Clear pacing, transitions, and classroom-appropriate management throughout the session

• Organization and cleanup of all program materials following the workshop
